7421? Are you talking about pins? In any case I haven’t had the need to use the Shiftout function and i don’t know how it works, but I know that my code (with the Tone library) requires access to at least two interrupt of Arduino. This means that if your Arduino have only two interrupts, you can’t use functions like “delay” or something similar, because that type of functions use interrupts. Image may be NSFW.
